Power

Generation, transmission and substations, where physical access is hard.

A line of high-voltage transmission towers on a hillside at sunset, with the lit city behind.

What it solves

Inspecting a substation takes permits, clearances and a window. The camera is already there every day.

What gets measured here

Every signal, with the standard behind it

  • 95 °C

    Oil critical · 75 alert

    Transformador · punto caliente

Winding temperature consumes service life at a calculable rate, and the system keeps count.

    IEEE C57.91
  • 720 ppm

    TDCG at condition 1 · 1,920 condition 2 · 4,630 condition 3

    Gases disueltos en aceite

The ratio between gases tells an arc from overheating months in advance.

    IEEE C57.104 · IEC 60599
  • > 15 K

Over the twin component · 4–15 scheduled · 1–3 investigate

    Subestación · conexiones

ΔT over the reference on terminals, switches and busbars, classified into action bands.

    NETA MTS · NFPA 70B
  • 600 W/m²

Minimum irradiance · below it, thermography is worthless

    Solar · módulos

Hot spots, dead strings and shorted diodes, following the standard's procedure.

    IEC 62446-3

The full catalogue is 311 standards across fourteen domains, and it lives inside the platform — next to the field where the number goes — not in an appendix to the manual.

A concrete case

Close-up of an industrial electric motor on its base, with the terminal box in view.
Medium-voltage motor · the limit comes from the insulation class on its nameplate, not from a round number.

A motor at 68 °C can be healthy or about to fail

It depends on its insulation class and on what it is compared against. A class F motor takes what a class B does not, and the same motor at 68 °C in January and in July does not mean the same thing: what matters is the ΔT over its reference, not the absolute figure. That is why the limit is not typed in by hand — it comes from the machine's nameplate and the standard that applies to it.

  • Winding temperature by class

    IEC 60034 · NEMA MG-1

The limit is set by the insulation class on the nameplate. A class F is not judged with a class B threshold.

  • ΔT over the reference

    NETA MTS 100.18

The rise over the twin machine, or over itself a month ago. Above 35 °C it stops being monitoring.

  • Bearing temperature

    ISO 10816-3

The bearing warns before the winding does. Its trend is what gives the window to act without stopping the line.

Without getting close

Radiometric measurement is taken at a distance and without an outage, which turns a permitted inspection into a continuous reading.
