Industrial sensors

Vibration, power, level and environment, in the same place as the video and under the same alarm rules.

Why it matters

The process historian and the video system are usually two worlds that never look at each other. When a motor heats up and its vibration signature shifts at the same time, a person makes that connection — late, and from memory.

How it works

  1. 01

Open protocols: MQTT, SNMP and OPC-UA, with Modbus in beta. No proprietary SDK in the way.

  2. 02

The threshold is set on the device, with hysteresis, so it does not chatter around the cut-off point.

  3. 03

The output is linked to the equipment it feeds: the alarm says what went dark, not just that something did.

  4. 04

Anomaly by z-score against that point's own history, not against a generic threshold.

  5. 05

Every signal keeps its records exactly as the sensor sent them: date, exact time and value, sample by sample, coloured against its threshold. The trend aggregates to show months; the record lets you audit one specific moment.

  6. 06

Vibration spectrum viewer: amplitude by frequency with the 1×, 2× and 3× running-speed markers, and the overall-value trend. A peak growing at 1× points to unbalance; at 2×, to misalignment.

Sensor-agnostic

Bring your sensors. We bring the intelligence.

The value is not in making the sensor: it is in what gets done with what it measures. The platform does not force you to buy its own hardware or throw away what is already installed — anything speaking an open protocol comes in, and whatever does not gets a driver written for it.

A figure no single signal can give

A port crane motor is not diagnosed by vibration. It is diagnosed by vibration, bearing temperature, current, revolutions, what the thermal camera sees and what the microphone hears — at once, and against its own history. That is what no sensor maker can do with its sensor.

What a vibration system says

«The motor has high vibration.»

What SEPTEM can say

«The motor is behaving unlike its historical pattern: vibration rose 34 %, the bearing gained 11 °C and the thermal camera sees the rise localised in its housing. Risk of bearing degradation.»

Brands are integrated one at a time, according to what each industry and each customer needs. A sensor speaking SNMP, MQTT or OPC-UA comes in on day one, and a Modbus one too, in beta; one with a proprietary protocol comes in when there is a case that justifies it, and then its driver gets written and validated against the real equipment. That list grows by demand, not by catalogue.

In practice

Power that explains itself

A DC supply drops. Instead of a generic warning, the alarm names the equipment that depended on that output and lost power. Whoever receives it already knows which panel to walk to.

Capabilities

  • MQTT, SNMP v1/v2c/v3 and OPC-UA · Modbus TCP in beta
  • SNMP trap receiver
  • Setpoints with hysteresis, defined on the device
  • Electrical output → fed equipment link
  • Time-series historian
  • Sample-by-sample records for every signal, paged back in time
  • Vibration spectrum viewer with 1×, 2× and 3× markers

What it does not do yet

  • Large-scale time-series storage is on the way: today it handles one plant's volume, not a whole fleet with years of history.

See, measure, understand and act in time.
